A total of 1,500 participants attended the concert, which lacked the necessary approval permit
"The police ordered the event to cease and directed all attendees to disperse.
"The Kemaman Municipal Council had initially monitored the event and posted a notice prohibiting large gatherings," said Hanyan.
However, despite the warning, the programme continued
Hanyan said investigations are ongoing and that the event organisers will be called in to provide their statements regarding the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 9(5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 for failing to inform the police about the event, and Section 6(1) of the Entertainment and Places of Entertainment Enactment 2002 for operating without an entertainment licence.
