A father is seeking justice after discovering that his daughter's jewellery was stolen following her death from a heart attack in a car in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur two weeks ago

According to the New Straits Times, Syazwan Abdullah, 59, is looking for the missing jewellery after his daughter was found dead in her parked car at a condominium in Setapak on 1 October.

"This isn't just about the value of the jewellery that was lost; it's about my child's dignity after the valuables were taken from her lifeless body," said the father, who had flown from Lahad Datu, Sabah to Kuala Lumpur upon learning of her passing.

After his daughter's burial in Banting, Selangor, Syazwan said he is now compelled to search for the chain, locket, and bracelet given to her by her grandmother and sister

He said his daughter's body was discovered early in the morning on 1 October by patrolling police officers, who noticed her parked Proton Saga with its engine running and lights on.

"On the day of the incident, the fire department took photos before and after breaking the car window, as the vehicle was locked," Syazwan said.

According to the photos, he said, his daughter was still wearing her jewellery before her body was handed over to the police.

"The images clearly show my daughter wearing the jewellery, but in the photos provided by the police, the chain and bracelet were missing.

"This leads me to suspect that the jewellery was taken while my daughter's body was still in the car before it was sent to the hospital," he said, adding that he filed a police report about the missing items on 8 October.

As a former senior police officer, he expressed disappointment that the investigating officer seemed uncooperative regarding the case

"I contacted the officer for information but received no response. I have also referred this matter to the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department at Bukit Aman for further investigation.

"What frustrates me is that this inquiry was opened as a preliminary inquiry rather than a full investigation," he said.

Syazwan added that he and his family have come to terms with his daughter's passing, which showed no sign of foul play, but they seek justice for the loss of the jewellery.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that the police are currently investigating the allegations.
