Earlier on Saturday, 19 November, Abang Johari had announced that GPS would form the next federal government with PN, Barisan Nasional (BN), and GRS
Hajiji reaffirmed GRS's support for Muhyiddin as prime minister two days later.
However, BN announced yesterday, 22 November, that they have decided not to support either Pakatan Harapan (PH) or PN in forming the government, instead announcing that the coalition will remain in the opposition.
Later, Abang Johari added that GPS would defer to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah in choosing the next prime minister.
At 11am today, 23 November, GPS leaders were scheduled to meet with the Agong.
