A Malaysian homeowner was shocked to discover that his house in Puchong, Selangor, which has been left vacant for the past 10 years, is now occupied by foreigners

According to the New Straits Times, a man said the homeowner recently planned to sell the vacant house and asked him to handle the sale on his behalf.

"I asked who is living in the house now, and the owner said it has been vacant for several years. He never lived there after purchasing it, as he prefers staying in the village.

"I decided to go and check the condition of the house. Upon arrival, I noticed someone inside.

"I called my friend, the owner, once again to confirm if the house was really empty. I told him that there are foreigners in the house!

"It's not just me who was surprised, [the homeowner was also shocked too] because he has never rented it to anyone since buying it over 10 years ago," the English daily quoted him as saying.

The man tried to talk to the foreigners, but they could not understand Bahasa Melayu or English

"In my mind, I thought they were really bold, invading someone's house like that. Even we, as locals, wouldn't dare to do such a thing.

"They boldly entered someone's house and acted as if it was nothing. They even drew water from a neighbouring house. I don't know how they managed to get electricity," he added.

He further revealed that he spoke to a Bangladeshi man, presumably the supervisor of the foreign squatters, who claimed that they had been living in the house for a long time without any interference, reported Berita Harian.

The situation took an even more surprising turn when the foreigners demanded proof of ownership from the man.

"They asked for proof that this house belongs to my friend. What is happening to Malaysia now?

"I have urged the homeowner to file a police report, and I will also report the case to the Immigration Department.

"I implore all of you to share this story. We need everyone to be aware, especially those with vacant houses, to prevent them from being invaded and squatted by foreigners," Buletin TV3 quoted him as saying.
