Netizens Debate After Man Is Charged RM156 For 3 Plates Of Mixed Rice

A man has taken to social media to complain about how he and his friends were charged RM156.50 for three plates of mixed rice at a Johor Bahru eatery
Posting on the Facebook community group, JB柔佛吹水站, the customer shared photos of his food and the receipt, expressing his dissatisfaction.
"[What happened to being] reasonable and fair? In two or three years, [the shop owner] can buy the whole row of shops already lah. The whole row, not just one shop," he said sarcastically.
The photos show one plate loaded with petai curry, vegetables, and a piece of fried chicken; another with prawn and squid curry and a piece of fried chicken; and the last with a meat curry and sambal cuttlefish.

The post went viral with over 1,000 comments and 400 shares, with netizens debating if the price was justified
Some argued that the price was fair given the large portions of food, while others felt the eatery was definitely overcharging.
Many also criticised the customer for not addressing the issue with the cashier at the time of payment.
"You already knew this place is expensive, yet, you took so many expensive items and didn't say anything during payment. Why are you here complaining? I'm really curious about people nowadays," one Facebook user commented.

"The petai alone may have cost RM10, and seafood is not cheap. Fried chicken is also sold outside for RM5 per piece. Next time, roughly calculate how much you are willing to pay. If you take that much, you should pay for that much. If you think the price is unreasonable, you should ask the cashier for a breakdown," said another.
