Kindhearted Malaysians came to the rescue when they saw that a man in Johor has raised a white flag, a sign for help

New Straits Times reported that self-employed 39-year-old Zulkiflie Samsudin from Taman Pulai Indah raised a white flag outside of his house recently.

He had lost half his income during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zulkiflie works as a welder and has a six-month pregnant wife, a nine-year-old daughter, and a one-year-old son under his care.

The man said that he could neither buy necessities for his toddler nor pay for his house rent and car loan

"I feel down for not being able to carry out my duties as the head of the family due to financial constraints, and things have become worse this year," he said.

He also added that he is unsure whether this action of waving a flag is right or wrong, but he does it for the sake of his children and his pregnant wife.

After news of Zulkiflie's white flag reached social media, several people came to his aid and the family now has enough supplies to last them several months

Zulkiflie said, "I raised the white flag yesterday afternoon, 28 June, and Alhamdulillah, aid started pouring in beyond my expectation."

He added that there are also netizens who are willing to pay a month's worth of his house rent which is RM800, as well as his three-month car loan arrears worth about RM1,200.

Zulkiflie thanked all of those who had helped his family and decided to take down the white flag.

"For now, we have enough supply of basic necessities as well as finance. Only Allah can repay the kindness of those who have helped us," the man said.
