Malaysian Digital Association Names REV Media Group's Nicholas Sagau As New Vice President
His appointment comes alongside Omnicom's Eileen Ooi's reelection as the association's president for a second term.
Following its 15th Annual General Meeting, the Malaysian Digital Association (MDA) has named it's President and Vice President for the latest term
Omnicom Media Group Sdn Bhd CEO Eileen Ooi was appointed MDA President for a second term, while REV Media Group Berhad's Nicholas Sagau was named the association's Vice President.
Established in 2009, the MDA aims to grow Malaysia's digital advertising sector and standardise the measurement of the country's Internet traffic
Managed by an elected council with a president and 12 members representing both media/publishers and services/specialists equally, the association projects itself as a unified voice for digital publishing and advertising matters.
Essentially, the MDA aims to ensure the long-term interests of the media industry in Malaysia are represented and secure by bringing together all sectors involved in digital media and advertising.
Speaking on his appointment, Nicholas expressed gratitude for being trusted with a role in leading the growth of digital publishing amid challenging times
"This appointment is a testament to the industry's confidence in our ability to lead the digital media publisher’s industry through the challenges posed by the current economic outlook, which is impacted by various factors.
"I am eager to collaborate closely with our industry's elected council, office bearers and stakeholders to drive innovation and growth," he said.
Equally, Eileen was honoured to be reelected as the association's president for a second term
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey with MDA and am committed to continue to serve our community and support our industry's growth. The appointment is a testament to the industry's confidence in MDA's impact and support in driving the digital economy forward and Omnicom Media Group's role as a representation of the agency and advertisers' needs in digital.
"I look forward to working closely with the rest of MDA's elected office bearers, council members, and strategic partners," she said.
