Mufti Explains Why Not Praying Leads To Divorce And Families Falling Apart
"Whoever carries out prayers, their marriages will be strong."
Federal Territories Mufti Ustaz Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli shared his thoughts on how lack of faith leads to marriages falling apart
"One of the causes [of divorce] is not praying together," the mufti said
Zulkifli pointed out that Islamic verses relating to divorce, such as surah Al-Baqarah, are long and include messages about "carrying out prayers five times a day and to do it properly."

"Scholars say [based on scripture] that whoever carries out prayers, their marriages will be strong," he added, according to Astro Awani.

"You won't hear stories about couples that pray together, and the wife cooks nasi lemak to eat for breakfast together, and then they prepare clothes to wear to court to get divorced," he said
"You won't hear of it. It doesn't happen," Zulkifli said.

"Where there is hablumimallah (relationship with God), there exists hablumminannas (relationship between people)," he explained.
Zulkifli added that when the devil tries to break up a married couple, prayers make them strong and powerful enough to resist.
