No Sign Of Nicky Liow In Penang As Police Try To Track Another Datuk For Suspected Ties

The founder of the Winner Dynasty Group is being sought by the Johor police for his alleged involvement in money laundering and commercial crimes.

However, according to New Straits Times, Penang state police chief Datuk Sahabudin Abd Manan said there has been no sign of the man in the state thus far.

"We obtained information from Johor police with regards to their hunt for the man," said Sahabudin during a press conference at the Penang headquarters on Thursday morning, 25 March.

He said his men are aware of the case, especially personnel who are manning road blocks around the state.

Johor police chief Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said 40 people are currently being detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA), reported Harian Metro.

The remaining 52 people have since been released after being screened by police and deemed not directly involved in the 33-year-old Datuk Seri's case.

The Johor police chief said they are looking for 42-year-old Md Azar Izwan Mohd Arifin @ Datuk A Janus, who was a former deputy public prosecutor (DPP) in the state.

"Datuk Seri Nicky is still at large. And we are looking for another suspect called Md Azar Izwan who was a former DPP. His last known address was in Puchong, Selangor," said Ayob Khan during a press conference at the Johor headquarters on Thursday.

"This suspect is one who played an important role in the syndicate involving Datuk Seri Nicky Liow. He is wanted to assist in investigations under Sections 130V to 130ZB of the Penal Code for organised crime."

He urged any individual with information on the whereabouts of these suspects to contact ASP Prakash Valiappan at +6012-5209767, or head to the nearest police station.
