In a viral tweet on 25 June, the young woman, who is now 22 years old, was praised by netizens for setting a record in a field solely dominated by men.
The recent tweet has since received over 16,400 retweets and 12,600 likes.
Underwater welding is a highly dangerous job that involves working in a risky environment with minimal visibility.
So, taking on such a career requires both mental and physical strength – something Nur Izzati had proven she could handle.
According to News Straits Times, an underwater welder is required to repair ships, dams, pipelines, offshore drilling rigs, locks, and sub-sea habitats.

Raised in Kampung Kuala Sungai Rambutan in Perak, Nur Izzati dreamed of becoming an underwater welder during her college years
She enrolled as a student at Kolej Vokasional Taiping in the town of Kamunting, and was the only female in her welding class in 2013.
"Since small, I love to try new things and do things that test my limits. It's just my nature," she told New Straits Times in an interview last year.
Although her ambition was to become a soldier when she was young, all that changed after she went on a field trip to Weldzone Training Centre
"I was so impressed with a demonstration on underwater welding. I was fascinated with the concept and sophistication of welding under the sea," she said.
She then decided to take up the course and has since become an assistant instructor at the centre.

"I can't even do this on land... Respect!"
"It's so impressive to see women in fields like this. Congratulations."
You're truly an inspiration, Nur Izzati. Keep up the good work! <3
