Recently, a 31-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by an unknown man in the parking lot of Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya

The incident happened at around 11.50am on 21 December, in front of the victim's two-year-old daughter as they were about to enter their car, according to a viral social media posting from the victim.

"I was heading back to my car at Level 2 parking, while [my daughter] was seated in the trolley. As I was nearing my car and pushing the cart, a man came up from behind and groped my breasts," she said.

"I panicked and all I managed to do was scream."

According to the victim, while she is trained in silat and martial arts, during the time of the incident she couldn't think of anything except to scream out for help.

Unfortunately, there was no one around at the time.

The woman also posted a photo of her car, showing how close to the entrance it was parked while noting that the space was well lit

However, there wasn't anyone else around.

"No security guards or CCTV (closed-circuit television) either," she noted.

While a report has been lodged, the police are having a tough time as no CCTV cameras were installed at the scene

According to Sepang district police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof, they are trying to trace down the perpetrator but haven't been able to identify him in the absence of surveillance cameras there.

He said that police have instructed the car park supervisor to inspect all CCTVs in the area to determine if the perpetrator had followed the victim while she was in Tamarind Square.

"We are still working on identifying the suspect," he added.

The victim only remembers that he was wearing long black pants

According to Wan Kamarul, the unidentified man was wearing a face mask.

Meanwhile, the victim shared that when she went back with her husband to Tamarind Square to submit a report about the incident at the management office, she heard from the security that another woman went through the same thing after her.

"She even dropped her six-month-old baby," she said, adding that it's possible it was the same perpetrator.

She also alleged that the police officer who took her case made a remark about her clothes and advised her about 'tutup aurat'.

"Best part? The sergeant is a woman," she added.
