Perodua Myvi Caught On Dashcam Reverse Driving In Pasir Gudang Shocks Locals
"He must have been watching the 'Fast & Furious' movies."
A recent video of a Perodua Myvi driving in reverse in Pasir Gudang, Johor, has gone viral for the sheer absurdity of it all
The 24-second feature, which was posted to the Facebook group 我们是马来西亚人 We are Malaysians, shows an undisclosed driver's dashcam footage while driving on the right lane of a road.
At approximately 14 seconds, you can see a Perodua Myvi in the centre lane (one lane to the left of the dashcam driver) driving — though it is in reverse.
While a rather peculiar way to carry on down the road, the footage clearly shows the vehicle in control during its course, before the video ends after the dashcam driver passes the Myvi.

The clip has since garnered widespread attention, from people both concerned and entertained by the spectacle
Among some of the most humorous comments included one user who said that the driver probably watched The Fast and the Furious (2001) too many times, while another called the Perodua Myvi the cutest car in the history of vehicles.

Another user also praised the driver, saying that this clip should land itself in the Guinness Book of Records. "Driving the king in the middle lane and carefully manoeuvring it down the road, the driver should get a gold medal."
One other user simply said, "It's rare that the king isn't weird."

Casually guessing as to why the Myvi was driving in reverse, some users added their comedic take to the situation. "This is the concept for the 2025 version of the king doing a test drive," said one, while another suggested that the driver took a wrong turn.
"I think he shifted into the wrong lane, another car got in front of him, so he just panicked and reversed. He probably thought there's no way for a three-point turn now."

A couple of others offered pretty reasonable conclusions for the situation, saying that he may have broken his gear, and had no choice but to drive in reverse.
"All five gears were probably gone, so he used his last remaining gear — reverse, with pure confidence," one user joked.
