Police: 4 Who Died After Concert & 3 Hospitalised Likely Took Ecstasy

All seven attended the concert separately with their respective friends and families.

The four individuals who died after attending Pinkfish Countdown 2024 in Bandar Sunway are believed to have taken drugs

According to the New Straits Times, Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said initial investigations revealed the victims are suspected of consuming ecstasy.

However, the police are still awaiting toxicology reports for confirmation and to ascertain their causes of death.

Hussein added that, besides the four deceased victims, three others were hospitalised with similar symptoms following the concert

Six individuals were admitted to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre, where the four victims passed away, while another was admitted to Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

"In the three new cases discovered, two are currently being treated in the intensive care unit, while the third individual has been discharged from hospital," Hussein said.

He added that the seven did not attend the concert together, but had gone with their respective friends and families in separate groups.

The police have opened four investigation papers, and are working to determine if there were any criminal elements involved

Hussein said they have so far recorded the statements of six people.

"We will be calling more individuals to have their statements recorded, including the concert organiser and friends of all seven individuals," he said.

He also urged those with information about the case to contact Subang Jaya district police headquarters at +603-78627222 or their nearest police station.
