Someone Left A Month-Old Baby At A Laundromat In Subang Jaya
The baby was abandoned with a bag containing an adult-sized shirt, a pair of socks, a pair of mittens, and a headscarf.
A baby boy was found abandoned at the doorstep of a laundromat on the morning of 5 March in Subang Jaya, Selangor, according to Subang Jaya assemblywoman Michelle Ng Mei Sze
In a post on her official Facebook account, Ng said that the infant, believed to be around a month old, was discovered with a bag containing an adult-sized shirt, a pair of socks, a pair of mittens, and a headscarf.
"This suggests that the mum and/or dad come from an underprivileged background," the DAP politician wrote in her Facebook post while urging the police to handle the case with compassion.
"We need to consider how we can help or support mums and/or dads in such circumstances," she said, adding that she would work with the authorities to ensure the best possible outcome for the baby's parents.
Ng said that the first three months of a baby's birth are the most difficult, especially for the mother as she needs to heal, take care of the newborn, breastfeed, manage the fluctuating hormones, and suffer from sleep deprivation
"There is a possibility that the mother might be going through postpartum blues or depression [...] As a mum who went through baby blues, my heart goes out to the mum and/or dad and all parents who are in similar circumstances.
"If you're going through a difficult time, please reach out. We are here for you. My team and I are ready to help," she appealed in her post.

Meanwhile, she thanked the community leaders of Subang Perdana Goodyear Court 4 in USJ 8 for taking care of the baby
"[The community leaders] got milk and suitably sized clothes for the child, and called the authorities, so that next steps could be taken. I would also like to recognise the paramedics of SJ Beacon, Subang Jaya's Ambulance, for responding in four minutes and managing the case expertly, and the hospital staff who are providing the baby top-notch care," she added.
