M'sian Teacher Uses RM2,000 Bonus To Renovate His Students' Classroom
"My role as a teacher is to not only come to school and teach, but also create a clean, comfortable, and cheerful atmosphere for my students to learn in," he said.
A primary school teacher in Kota Tinggi, Johor, is receiving praise online for renovating his students' classroom using money out of his own pocket
The teacher, Kamal Darwin, shared that he spent his RM2,000 government one-off payout for civil servants this year on the classroom's makeover at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Air Tawar 4.
"Where did my RM2,000 bonus go? Well, I'm here to show you. These are photos of my class before and after renovation," he shared.

The teacher said he spent about one week to complete the classroom's new look, hoping to provide his students with a better learning environment
"I wanted a theme that was simple and inviting for all my students.
"It took me a week to complete the renovations. It wasn't solely my effort; I received help from parents, cleaning staff, senior teachers, administrative staff, as well as the Parents-Teachers Association (PIBG)," he said.
From the photos he shared, it could be seen that they gave the classroom a thorough cleaning before proceeding to paint the walls and furniture, fix the table tops, and update the board and posters around the classroom.
