The video shows the masseuse demonstrating her skills with grace and focus on a 'client' who, in this case, was also a judge
According to the Asian Massage Championship website, there are multiple events in the competition, including oil massage, body care, facial, traditional Thai massage, freestyle massage, and stretch, where the therapists' performances are scored by multiple judges.
The participants are judged based on their massage techniques, preparation of the treatment area, posture, treatment flow, anatomical approach, innovation, hospitality, and overall impression.
As each participant is allowed to sign up for up to two events, Tanamera Spa said Mazlin, who is from their Kemaman, Terengganu branch, participated in the oil massage and body care categories.
The spa added that while she did not win, she was happy to walk away with the "gold experience" of learning from other industry professionals as well as showcasing traditional Malay massage techniques during the two-day event.
