This includes developing drone sports, engaging with the community, nurturing talent, creating business opportunities, and fostering a strong drone industry ecosystem.
Cyberjaya already has facilities like the Drone Testing Zone (DTZ) and various testbeds that encourage innovation and collaboration in the drone sector. Since 2019, the DTZ, with support from Drone Academy Asia, a leading drone pilot training organisation, has trained over 2,300 remote pilots, conducted more than 150 training sessions, and logged over 2,000 flight hours.
A key highlight during the announcement was NASDAR 2023-2027

Futurise also introduced the NASDAR roadmap for developing drone sports in Malaysia.
This plan aims to boost the popularity and competitiveness of drone sports by focusing on talent development, improving regulations, and encouraging collaboration within the industry. This initiative supports the Malaysian government's Visi Sukan Negara 2030, which aims to promote emerging sports and technological advancements.
In line with this roadmap, the CDH program, also launched at the DRIFT event, aims to nurture drone sports talent through hands-on training and competitions. The program provides students and drone enthusiasts with valuable STEM skills. So far, over 200 students from 14 different universities across Malaysia, including UTM and UNIRAZAK, have participated in the CDH program.
The DRIFT event also saw the signing of two Letters of Intent that will further boost drone technology in Malaysia
Cyberview partnered with Drone Academy Asia, while Futurise teamed up with UMPSA Advanced, a company linked to Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah. These collaborations show a strong commitment to developing and advancing drone technology within the country.
