Billionaire Elon Musk's has claimed that the patient implanted with the Neuralink chip could control a computer mouse through thought alone

In January 2024, Neuralink, Musk's brain interface company, achieved a milestone by successfully implanting a brain chip in its first human patient.

In a post via X, Elon Musk said the first Neuralink product is called Telepathy.

"Enables control of your phone or computer, and through them almost any device, just by thinking. Initial users will be those who have lost the use of their limbs. Imagine if Stephen Hawking could communicate faster than a speed typist or auctioneer. That is the goal."

The patient, who remains anonymous, has reportedly made a full recovery with no known adverse effects

Despite past controversies over animal testing and regulatory violations, Neuralink received FDA approval for human trials last year.

The company's ultimate goal is to enable individuals who have lost the use of their limbs to control devices purely by thought.
