Father Of Banting School Stabbing Victim Says She Wasn't The Intended Target

New details have emerged following the stabbing at a secondary school in Banting, Selangor, revealing that the 15-year-old suspect is a student at the same school as the victim

According to Harian Metro, the suspect, a Form 3 student, had reportedly been absent from school for the past few months while undergoing medical treatment.

The victim, also a Form 3 student, was reportedly stabbed more than a dozen times, sustaining injuries to the back and shoulders.

The student is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.

Reports said the teen suspect entered the school compound through the main entrance before the incident. However, the exact sequence of events leading up to the attack has not been disclosed.

Following the stabbing, teachers reportedly managed to calm the suspect near the school's surau before alerting the police

The suspect was subsequently detained, while officers also seized a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

Kuala Langat district police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi had earlier confirmed the incident that occurred today, 6 July.

Videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media, showing students running in panic as a teenage girl dressed in black walked around the school compound holding what appeared to be a knife.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the stabbing.
