Fox TV Group chairman Gary Newman today confirmed chatter that the network is in talks for a new installment of Chris Carter's cult supernatural drama, which starred David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Newman went on to say he was "hopeful" about the outcome.
Good news, '90s nostalgists: The New York Times reports that Netflix is ordering a reboot of The Magic School Bus. Called The Magic School Bus 360°, the new series will be a reboot of the popular '90s children's cartoon from Scholastic Media that originally from 1994 until 1997.

TV Line is reporting that Netflix is planning to revive the classic sitcom Full House with a 13-episode spinoff series entitled Fuller House. According to TV Line, the revival will star Candace Cameron Bure, who played eldest daughter DJ in the original series, and Andrea Barber, who played DJ's endearing but borderline mentally ill friend Kimmy Gibbler.
Mulan, the story of a girl who becomes a great warrior after disguising herself as a boy, is the next Disney movie on the list to be made into a live action film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Disney has bought a script written by Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek, while Chris Bender and J.C. Spink have been named as producing the project.
On screen, Disney is going to bring Winnie the Pooh into live-action and has hired indie writer-director Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Phillip) to do it. What we know about Perry's movie is: "The focus will be Christopher Robin as an adult, which brings him back to A.A. Milne's famous bear and the Hundred Acre Wood."
Tim Burton is to direct a Disney live action remake of Dumbo. It will be the latest re-working of its classic animations, following Cinderella, Maleficent (adapted from Sleeping Beauty) and Alice in Wonderland.
Bill Murray will be joining the cast of Disney's live action film adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. The Ghostbusters and Lost in Translation actor is the latest name to be added to the stellar line-up, which includes Lupita Nyong'o as Rakcha; Ben Kingsley as panther Bagheera; Scarlett Johansson as python Kaa; and Idris Elba as villainous tiger Shere Khan.
Emma Watson has been cast as Belle in the upcoming live action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. The English actress, known for her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, was first attached to the movie back in 2011 and has now been confirmed for the part.
