Black Widow Spotted Filming In KL? Here's What To Know
It is SUS.
Will the next Thunderbolts* movie be set in Malaysia?
Probably not, but a series of social media posts seem to allude that Florence Pugh, or at least her character Black Widow, may appear in a scene in Kuala Lumpur for the new movie.
On 24 June, a fan page on X dedicated to actress Florence Pugh, who is one of the confirmed stars of Thunderbolts*, tweeted that Pugh was in Malaysia to film a skydiving stunt sequence.
According to Thunderbolts* News on X, there were a few random comments made by stunt performers hinting that a scene in Thunderbolts* would take place in Malaysia.
There was also a video circulating on X that is suspected to be a scene from Thunderbolts*
The video was shared by MCU Network MY on X, showing a stunt filming scene in Kuala Lumpur.
In the video, a person dressed in black can be seen sitting atop a motorcycle, which has been hooked up to wires.
The stunt appears to be some kind of chase scene, with the rider landing on top of a passing trailer truck before bouncing off to the road.
It hasn't been confirmed whether this film is a stunt for the new Thunderbolts* movie, but that hasn't stopped fans from piecing clues together.
On top of that, Pugh's sister seems to have been in town around the time these rumours were swirling
The actress's sister Arabella Gibbins posted a photo of her view in front of the Petronas Twin Towers on 23 June.
"Taking it all in so many moments and sights to savour, it's been a very surreal few days! Never thought I'd be in Malaysia this year so thank you thank you thank you lucky stars (aka @florencepugh & @theo_smith)," she captioned.
Now, she could just be on vacation.
But the timing is definitely suspicious.
Coincidentally, a stunt double who reportedly doubles for Pugh in the film was also spotted in Kuala Lumpur
Sarah Irwin shared an Instagram Story featuring Guan Di Temple, Chinatown, with the Merdeka 118 Tower peeking in the background.
"Until next time, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia," she captioned.
SAYS has reached out to Disney+ for a comment.
Coincidence or not? We'll let you decide.
In classic MCU fashion, many details surrounding the new Thunderbolts* movie are shrouded in secrecy.
At the D23 Expo 2022, Marvel revealed the lineup for the cast, which includes Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Black Widow (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), John Walker (Wyatt Russell), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus).
According to Marvel, this group would be teaming up for a mission for the government.
Given this lineup of characters, fans have theorised that this team may be Marvel's version of the Suicide Squad, which is a film about a team of antiheroes recruited to help the government from the DC comics.
Thunderbolts* is scheduled for release in May 2025.
