Malaysian radio station Fly FM will play US rapper Macklemore's Hind's Hall for 24 consecutive hours tomorrow, 5 June, in support of calls for a ceasefire in Palestine

In a statement to SAYS, the English language radio station said that it is taking a bold stand for a ceasefire in Palestine with the unique takeover campaign.

"From 7am [tomorrow] to 6.59am on 6 June, the station will exclusively play Hind's Hall by Macklemore for 24 hours straight.

"This initiative aims to amplify awareness and show unwavering support for Palestine," stated Fly FM.

The campaign will include special segments that encourage listener participation. Several artistes and influential personalities will also come on air to discuss the issue, creating an engaging experience for the listeners.

Fly FM content director Seán Matjeraie said the radio station is doubling down on its efforts to raise awareness about Palestine's struggles after receiving overwhelming support from listeners

"We aim to push this initiative further and increase the intensity of awareness.

"By dedicating an entire day to Hind's Hall, we hope to turn passive listeners into active supporters and give a stronger voice to the call for a ceasefire in Palestine," said Seán.

Macklemore's latest song, Hind's Hall, pays tribute to a six-year-old Palestinian girl, named Hind Rajab, who was killed by Israeli forces while seeking help from the Red Crescent Society for about three hours on 29 January.

The song title is also a reference to Hamilton Hall, an academic building at Columbia University, which was occupied by student protesters in late April. The university authorities had threatened them to call off the pro-Palestine protest or face expulsion.

The US rapper is considered among the most outspoken celebrities, criticising the US and his music peers for their silence on the atrocities committed against Palestinians.
