The rumour mill is buzzing with speculation that Muar member of parliament (MP) Syed Saddiq and actress-singer Bella Astillah might be dating
This follows several developments, most notably a video posted by Syed Saddiq showing him swimming across the sea towards Bella, accompanied by the caption, "I'll climb every mountain, and swim every ocean."
The caption seemingly references Calum Scott's song You Are The Reason.
The next line of the lyrics is, "Just to be with you". Take that as you will.
Additionally, the song playing in the video, Sumpah Dan Cinta Matiku by Nidji, conveys themes of deep, unwavering love and devotion.
In the one-minute video, the Muar lawmaker is seen plunging into the sea without proper swimming attire, with his watch still on.
Despite the pouring rain, he swims towards the faint coastline, where a waiting Bella greets him with applause.

At the time of writing, the video has garnered over 5.7 million views on TikTok and 2.5 million views on Instagram
Many netizens expressed frustration over the playful teasing by Syed Saddiq and Bella, which kept them guessing about their relationship status.
"You have climbed mountains, you have swum across the seas of Sabah. If the wedding doesn't happen, I'll definitely block them on TikTok," read a top comment.
"If you two don't get married, I won't vote for you," a netizen jokingly threatened.
"Before this, Primavalet used them for marketing. Now, they use Primavalet [as an excuse] for dating. We approve [your relationship]," wrote another TikTok user.
Primavalet is a fashion brand that Syed Saddiq has been modelling for as part of efforts to raise funds for Muar constituents.
Beyond this video and their numerous social media appearances together, more clues hint that the duo might be an item
In a TikTok live, Syed Saddiq's mother, Sharifah Mahani, jokingly expressed her jealousy.
"Look at his behaviour of swimming from one corner to another... He doesn't even do that for his mother. He never swam for me, never climbed a mountain for me, or anything," she said in jest.
She also compared Syed Saddiq and Bella's relationship to Romeo and Juliet.

Additionally, last Thursday, 27 February, Bella was seen in parliament with her eldest child, Ayden Adrean, alongside the Muar MP
They were seen mingling and taking pictures with parliament staff members.
Syed Saddiq and Ayden also discussed their concern for the people of Gaza.
In one video clip, Ayden said, "Yes, I want to help them in Gaza when I grow up."
Syed Saddiq responded positively, suggesting that Ayden could assist the people of Gaza by becoming an MP in the future.
