The Oscar Comes Home! Michelle Yeoh Returns To M'sia With Trophy For Her Mum & Late Dad
The Oscar-winning actress dedicated the award to her parents and family in her acceptance speech.
Earlier today, 12 April, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh shared a set of two pictures showing her Oscar trophy being held by her mother and in front of her father's grave
The images show Datin Janet Yeoh proudly holding her daughter's Oscar trophy, and the trophy, possibly held by the actress herself, in front of her late father's grave.
"Brought Mr. O home. Without my parents' love, trust, and support, I wouldn't be here today. Love (you both) so much," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.
The post, shared on 12 April, has garnered over 110,000 likes at the time of writing.

Her mother watched the groundbreaking win at a special screening of the award show held at Dadi Cinema, Pavilion KL, on 13 March. Attendees of the special screening included celebrities, close family and friends, Youth and Sports YB Hannah Minister Yeoh, and Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.
CNA reporter Melissa Goh tweeted a video of the phone call between Yeoh and her mother right after her historical win, calling the veteran actress a "filial daughter"."
Yeoh is the first Malaysian and Asian woman to win an Oscar in the Best Actress in a Leading Role category for her movie, Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
The movie won seven out of the 11 awards it was nominated for at the award ceremony on 12 March.
Yeoh dedicated the win to her mother during her acceptance speech, saying that her mother and all the mothers around the world are "superheroes," and she would not have gotten to where she is today without the love and support of her family and friends.
The actress will be having a special meeting with Malaysian fans at Pavilion KL next Tuesday, 18 April.
