Rain Is Coming To M'sia: Here Are 5 Of His Hottest Performances To Watch While You Wait
But why see him on the screen when you can see him live?
If you haven't heard, K-pop icon Rain will be making his way to Resorts World Genting on Saturday, 8 February
While we wait for this legend to grace our stage, here's a look at some of his hottest performances:
(Spoiler: abs will be involved ;P)
1. It's Raining
Released in 2004, this track catapulted Rain to superstardom, showcasing his raw talent and undeniable stage presence. The song's aggressive urban dance beat and groovy choreography produced an addictive performance.
Only Rain could pull off that 2000s newsboy cap, but if you think it's horrendous, I guarantee his smooth moves make up for it.
Watch here:
2. Love Song
Known for his high-energy dance tracks, Rain surprised fans with this sultry R&B ballad in 2010. He went viral in South Korea for his "abs dance", which involved lots and lots (and lots) of body rolling.
Have a look for yourself here (I dare you not to look at his abs):
3. How To Avoid The Sun
This body rolling king wowed audiences with his stable live vocals while executing a pretty complex choreography. This performance also marked the first time he sported his now-iconic stage look: sunglasses and a jacket, a combination that would become synonymous with his powerful persona.
Check out the performance here:
4. Rainism
"I'm gonna be a bad boy, gonna be a bad boy..."
This song is undeniably one of K-Pop's most iconic tracks. Countless idols and fans have covered the song, but none can quite match Rain's legendary performance at the 2008 MKMF Awards. His sharp choreography, unforgettable "finger-tutting" move, and insane charisma made this particular performance one of his most iconic stages.
Check out the stage presence (and abs show) here:
5. GANG (κΉ‘)
Look, I'll admit those sunglasses were definitely a bold choice but there's no denying that even 19 years into his musical career, Rain is still dripping with swagger.
Just watch here and you'll get what I mean:
