A dog named Dabai, translated as 'Big White', was the epitome of patience when its owner completely forgot about bath time
A 23-second video showing a white-furred canine sitting obediently in a bathtub has gone viral on Chinese social media platform, Douyin.
The video was shared by Dabai's owner, who goes by the username @天上掉下个大白酱, with a caption that reads, "When mum is chatting away with a salesperson and forgets about Dabai in the bathroom."
The camera pans over to the living room, where the owner's mother is blissfully engrossed in a conversation with a salesperson
The son, amused by the situation, asks his mother where the dog is.
Initially too engrossed in the products the salesperson was showing her, it takes the mother some time for her son's question to fully sink in.
The mother finally remembers her soggy friend, who is still sat obediently in the bath.
The mother quickly jumps up from the sofa and rushes to the bathroom, a mix of guilt and amusement on her face.

Seeing Dabai's soggy, adorable state, the mother attempts to soothe the canine's feelings, giving it gentle rubs.
"Why didn't you bark to call me?" she says.
As if things couldn't get any funnier, Dabai looks directly into the camera, like how they do in The Office, as if to say, "I can't believe she forgot about me"

Although it's not clear how long the poor doggo was waiting in the tub, some netizens looked to Dabai's half-dried fur for clues
However, it appears that all is forgiven between the dog and its scatterbrained owner, as the white canine resumed his bath
