"M'sian Girls Are Lucky" – Expat Gets Flowers From Strange Man Who Tells Her It's The Norm
"He told me that... girls in Kuala Lumpur... receive a bouquet of flowers at least once a week from strangers," she said.
Few things are as heartwarming as receiving flowers from that special someone.
But what if that someone was some random guy who approached you on the street?
An expat from Romania gushed about a recent experience where a male stranger gifted her a bouquet of roses.
The TikTok user @andreainkl, who said she moved to Kuala Lumpur just one week ago, recounted how she was walking down the street when a man approached her and gave her the flowers.
"He told me that this is what happens to most of the girls in Kuala Lumpur. They receive a bouquet of flowers at least once a week from strangers," she said.
"I think this is really beautiful and amazing, and this doesn't happen in other countries."
She also wrote in her caption that, "Girls from Malaysia are so lucky".
Malaysians who knew better were puzzled and expressed their skepticism in the comments
One TikTok user said she had been living in Kuala Lumpur her entire life, and had yet to receive any flowers from strangers.
Another user jokingly suggested the woman might be in an alternate version of Malaysia.
One user said it was a lie, stating bluntly that giving flowers to women is such an uncommon occurrence in the country that their grandmother only received a bouquet when she died.
A few wary users told the woman to be careful, suggesting that there might be a hidden camera or even a tracker inside the bouquet.
Another doubtful local also implied that there might be a hidden motive behind the stranger gifting her the bouquet.
