Moo Deng Wins 'Video Of The Year' At TikTok Awards Thailand & It's So Well-Deserved TBH
Congrats, queen!
She won our hearts... and now, Moo Deng has won a TikTok award!
The Internet's favourite baby pygmy hippo recently bagged the Video of the Year award at the TikTok Awards Thailand.
Such a well-deserved win!
There have been lots of videos of Moo Deng all over social media, featuring the little but mighty hippo running away from bath time, showing off her signature hilariously shocked and panicked expression, and lots more.
And of course, videos of all kinds of Moo Deng-related content have been going viral too, whether its fanart, jiggly puddings, realistic cakes, or Halloween costumes.
Though the adorable queen of social media herself was sadly but understandably absent from the ceremony, her award was accepted by her caretaker, Atthapon "Benz" Nundee
But fear not, he actually brought a Moo Deng replica with him to the ceremony, so that the beloved baby hippo would still be present in some way, hehehe so cute!
According to The Pattaya News, Benz previously shared in a Facebook group that he would be unable to attend the TikTok Awards ceremony on 2 November, as he had to attend to his duties of cleaning the hippo enclosure.
After the post attracted public attention, it was decided that the Director of Khao Kheow Zoo, Narongwit Chodchoi, would step in to cover the cleaning duties instead, allowing Benz to represent the zoo (and Moo Deng!) at the awards ceremony.
Moo Deng, whose name means "bouncy pig" in Thai, has been going viral for her playful, cute, and meme-able antics since July
Her popularity has helped her home, Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand, earn more than THB12 million (RM1.5 million) in just three weeks. There's even Moo Deng merch on sale now!
Not to mention, she boosted the sale of braised pork knuckles in Thailand, just because the dish bears a resemblance to her adorable, bouncy figure. More recently, the baby hippo has become part of a fundraising campaign to help flood victims and improve the welfare of animals in six zoos.
Additionally, fans of mobile battle royale game Free Fire can look forward to exclusive Moo Deng wearables and equipment that can be used in-game.
