A Proton Saga has been featured in one of Apple's videos shot using its latest device, the iPhone 18 Pro
The 58-second video was posted yesterday, 23 September, as part of Apple's #ShotoniPhone18Pro video series, which includes music videos from BLACKPINK's Rosé and Hong Kong rapper-singer Jackson Wang.
In the video, the Saga is used as a getaway car in the one-continuous-take chase scene involving a group of youngsters running from a mysterious man.
The video was directed by Adolescence cinematographer Matt Lewis. The four-part crime drama limited series is known for its one-take scenes, with Lewis winning an Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Limited or Anthology Series for his work on the Netflix show.
Lewis brought his one-take expertise to the #ShotoniPhone18Pro video
In the video, Lewis used a one-take chase scene in which the Saga plays a prominent role as a getaway car for three escapees.
However, only two of them make it into the Saga, creating tension as they attempt to escape.
"I wanted to create a single-take chase scene with a real filmic depth of field.
"With variable aperture on iPhone 18 Pro, we were able to achieve practical focus shifts within an already challenging camera move.
"It also adapted for the lighting from daytime rehearsals to the final take at sunset," said Lewis.
Malaysians were quick to point out the Saga in the video, with one of the top comments reading, "I saw proton saga there"
"Wait, is that Malaysia proton car?" asked a netizen, while another person said, "Proud to be a Malaysian."
"@protoncars wei Saga tu," an Instagram user wrote.
