[VIDEO] Sabahan Ayam Bakar Seller Speaks Fluent Korean To Her Foreign Customer
Cast her in a K-drama right now!
It is always fascinating to observe how local food vendors and restaurant employees interact with their foreign customers who may not be fluent in our mothertongue
One Sabahan ayam bakar (grilled chicken) seller recently went viral on Instagram after a video of her communicating with a South Korean customer in their native language was posted online.
In the 29-second clip reposted by Instagram user @myweekendplan, the vendor can be seen describing the food she sells to her customer.
She informs her customer about the prices of her ayam bakar as she packs their order in a black plastic bag, and later thanks them for purchasing her food.
"RM6 for five pieces of chicken wings. How would you like it?" she asks the tourist in Korean.
Malaysians were amused by the seller's language skills and left their thoughts in the comments section
Many users commented that it is normal to see vendors at Pasar Besar Kota Kinabalu speaking in Korean and other foreign languages.
"Every vendor in Pasar Besar Kota Kinabalu can speak Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and English because of the influx of tourists that come to visit," wrote one user.
Another user commented that Kota Kinabalu is extremely popular among South Korean tourists, and that most Koreans associate Malaysia with the city.
Meanwhile, another joked that the vendor would earn thousands as a Korean language customer service representative.
