Travelling internationally can sometimes be a tiring and strenuous journey, but only luxuries can make it a little more bearable.

Luckily for one mother, her son gave her a surprise she'll never forget.

A recent TikTok by Indonesian blogger and content creator, Adriel Tjokrosaputro, has made waves across the platform after he shared a video of a special surprise he planned for his mother.

In the 40-second feature, Tjokrosaputro captures his mother ascending the staircase on a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore. As she reaches the top of the stairs, she stops and turns around to ask him if they're getting the suite again, confused initially.

After a split second, she realises her son has surprised her with an upgrade to the Suite Class cabin for their 12 and a half hour flight. The video proceeds with the airline stewardess showing his mother to her lavish and well-supplied booth.

Grinning from ear to ear, the video ends after she sees her cabin, full of joy over her son's touching surprise.

In a follow-up TikTok, Tjokrosaputro revealed how he managed to get the deed done, secretly switching his mum's ticket at the last minute so she wouldn't know

Explaining the course of events, Tjokrosaputro said that he swapped seats with her existing Business Class ticket, so that she would have a more comfortable flight on their way back.

"Of course I'd prefer to sit in the Suite Class!" he wrote in a caption across the screen of the video. "But the Business Class [seat] is still amazing. The legendary service lives up to what everyone's talking about."

Tjokrosaputro also mentioned how much he appreciated a kind gesture by the cabin crew members, who allowed him to sit in one of the suites that was vacant right before they landed, so he and his mom could disembark together.

"After years of travel hacking, this is probably going to be the pinnacle of my efforts. It's going to be so hard to top this!" he wrote.

Tjokrosaputro also stated that he managed to upgrade his ticket to Suite Class using KrisFlyer miles, a rewards programme for people who fly with the Singapore Airlines group and its partners.

At the end of his video, Tjokrosaputro thanked those at Singapore Airlines for treating him and his mother so well on the flight.

"We can't wait to experience your legendary service and cabin again soon," he concluded.

Warming hearts all over the world, the TikTok has since received five million views and over 500,000 likes

Remarks praising Tjokrosaputro for being a sweet and caring son flooded the comments section, with many people saying how the video made their day.

"This is so sweet and wholesome!" wrote one TikTok user, while another penned, "What a cool thing to do for her. I know that felt good."

A few jokesters also took to the comments, and light-heartedly cracked some puns, too.

"Not me putting my mom in the basic class in Delta as I watch this," one user wrote in relation to the American-based carrier, Delta Airlines.

Another user comically joked about asking an air stewardess to show their mum First Class on a flight, before moving her back to her original seat.

However, many users also expressed inspiration taken from Tjokrosaputro's video, saying that they hope to be able to do the same for their parents in the future.
