This Resort In Terengganu Conserves Century-Old Malay Kampung Villas With Wooden Baths

Step back in time at Terrapuri Heritage Village, a unique resort in Terengganu that offers an unforgettable cultural experience
Nestled by the ocean in Kampung Mangkuk, Terengganu, the resort features 29 charming antique kampung houses.
Each of the villas, said to be around 100 to 250 years old, has been meticulously conserved and restored to its former glory, offering a truly unique Terengganu experience.
22 of these charming, restored villas are available as accommodations, each exuding its own distinctive character and charm
What's unique about these Terengganu kampung houses is that they are built entirely of cengal wood. Their walls, doors, windows, and gables consist of separate wood panels, assembled using wooden joints held in place by pasak (wooden pegs) made from penaga wood.
This traditional construction technique eliminates the need for nails, enabling the entire structure to be assembled, dismantled, and moved as needed.
The villas are equipped with air-conditioning and fans, adorned with traditional decor, and some even feature wooden baths
Additionally, each villa includes a fridge, coffee and tea making facilities, sarongs, a hairdryer, pandanus slippers, and complimentary mineral water.
The resort also has a gallery, reading room, shop, meeting room, restaurant, spa, and an outdoor pool.

For those in need of deep relaxation, there are authentic Malay spa treatments available with skilled therapists who draw inspiration from ancient traditions.

The Teluk Pasu Gallery showcases artefacts from the Kingdom of Langkasuka era.
Visitors can explore a diverse collection, including wooden batik blocks, traditional bangau perahu, kebok laksa (a type of rice noodle), fisherman boxes, brassware, wood carvings, and more.
