Five months ago, Hiragi had a potbelly. Now, Hiragi is fitter than most of us.

His secret? A four-minute workout.

The Japanese fitness enthusiast revealed that he does a four-minute high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout at home every day.

A HIIT workout is when you push yourself to the max in a short span of time. Think of it as a short sprint.

Hiragi does a variety of HIIT, from burpees to abdominal exercises.

On 25 August, Hiragi shared a series of tweets documenting his method, including a video of him doing the workout

The tweet has been retweeted over 29,000 times and garnered over 107,500 likes.

According to Mothership his post translates as follows:

From March 2019 to August 2019.

Progress within 5 months

Even with strength training done at home, this much can be achieved.

I took the pictures using Apple Watch, which is why I’m posing this way.

However, it wasn't just the workout that contributed to his weight loss. Hiragi had to make some changes to his diet too.

According to Mothership, Hiragi only consumes between 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day.

Taking up intermittent fasting, he only eats between 12pm and 8pm, and fasts for the remaining 16 hours.

He also avoids having sugary drinks, snacks, and dessert.

That doesn't mean his meals are all boring and tasteless.

Hiragi revealed that he does indulge in bubble tea sometimes!
