The state icon Mini Malaysia Park located in Melaka has just revamped into the new and improved Malaysia Heritage Studios

On 18 December, Malaysia Heritage Studios hosted a soft opening of the theme park to visitors.

Previously, Malaysia Heritage Studios was what the locals knew as Mini Malaysia Park, before they closed it down for renovations and upgraded it into the new theme park. The establishment show an investment worth RM20 million.

In a statement to Bernama, general manager Anir Syazwan Sharbirin said, "A total of 13 houses representing the states of Malaysia were restored and upgraded according to each state's theme or elements of culture and heritage, using various technologies, and new approaches to attract visitors."

Visitors are allowed to interact with the work of art within the theme park to encourage an immersive experience

Each of the traditional houses at the theme park has been given a makeover to include attractions, such as the Kedah house with its new area that has paddy-shaped lamps and a swing visitors can take Instagrammable photos at.

Visitors can also get up close and personal with mystical creatures from Malay folklore via an animatronics display

The animatronics display will include mysterious creatures such as sang kelembai (a giant who can turn people to stone), mawas (a Bigfoot-like creature), gajah mina (sea cryptid that's a fusion of an elephant and a fish), semberani (a winged horse), and the Lake Chini dragon.

There are also mythical characters roaming about the theme park that visitors can take photos and interact with, such as the princess of Mount Ledang and Cik Siti Wan Kembang

The park is currently at the phase of pre-launch opening until 31 December

Tourists can now visit Malaysia Heritage Studios until the end of this year. For the pre-launch, only two houses, which are the Kedah house and the Sabah house, will be fully operating.

However, visitors are allowed to take photos of the other houses and participate in the cultural activities provided.

"Under phase one, we have restored every house in Mini Malaysia Park and all 13 state houses will be opened to visitors by June next year," said the general manager in the report from Bernama.
