In the now-viral TikTok, Malaysian model Jia Yii posted a video on the aftermath of walking the runway at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW)

After a long hunt for models all over the nation, KLFW has run its course for 2022. However, it may not have been what many anticipated.

Hitting the scene and walking the catwalk with grace, Jia Yii exemplified what it means to be a walking piece of art, featuring an array of selections by local designers for multiple shows.

Posting a TikTok on her page on 21 August, her video began with her strut in multiple designer outfits, looking as fabulous as she can be.

However, the 15-second video then takes a turn when Jia Yii shows herself walking across her hall at home, barefoot. As the camera pans, we then see bloodied gashes at the back of her heels, with bruises on each foot.

Fittingly enough, Jia Yii captioned her video with the phrase, "Runway vs Reality".

Since posting it to her account, Jia Yii's video has garnered almost 400,000 views and 50,000 likes

Many Malaysians took to the comments section to express their shock and utter disbelief at the display.

One commenter wrote, in translation, "How is she withstanding the pain while walking?" referring to her bruised stumps in the aftermath. Another person said they felt scared looking at her heels, and that it must be extremely painful.

An additional individual said that this video epitomised the phrase, 'beauty is pain'.

A further comment added some sense to the growing debate in the comments, saying that when one is focusing on what they're doing, they won't feel the pain, and these effects will only start visually appearing after the fact.

One more person asked if Jia Yii could wear a plaster before walking the runway, as the bruises looked unbearable.

Nonetheless, the majority of comments wished Jia Yii a speedy recovery for her injuries.
