If you're like most Malaysians, you probably spend slightly over eight hours a day at work

Some days, it might be even longer, especially if your job requires you to work over time or juggle added responsibilities. Worse still, it may lead to burnout over time, leaving you feeling as though you've never left the office.

That being said, the way you manage your stress is really important, which includes blowing off steam every so often. Failing to do so may result in stress catching up with your mental health and overall wellbeing.

Sadly, most Malaysians struggle to make the initial move

According to a Journal of Human Science, an average of a week to a month is taken for anyone to consider changing their lifestyle, while a further period of three to six months is needed for adapting to a new way of life.

That's why you often see many people signing up for a gym membership and renewing it monthly, even when they don't utilise it. If you really want to turn over a new leaf, whether it's to be more fit or pursue a healthy lifestyle, the best advice is to take the leap of faith.

For instance, pick up running or cycling — don't think, just do it. And if you're still wondering where and when to start, we've gotchu covered with an upcoming event happening at Dataran Putrajaya this November.

The best part is that you won't need to feel overwhelmed with any sense of heated competition. Just pack your sports attire, a selfie stick, and cool shades, 'cause this event is all about leisure and fun!
