Long before messages could be sent instantly, postal workers were the ones delivering letters, greeting cards, and other mail across the country.
For many Malaysians, receiving a letter in the post was something to look forward to, whether it was a handwritten note from a loved one or a Hari Raya card from family and friends.
Pos Malaysia recently shared a collection of old photos showing its postal workers from decades ago, offering a glimpse into what the job looked like back then.
The photos also highlight some of the challenges postal workers faced, from being chased by dogs and wading through floods to navigating routes blocked by fallen trees
But no matter what stood in their way, the deliveries still had to be made.
The postal service said these experiences are part of the memories that have shaped its history, from delivering handwritten letters, festive cards, and parcels to helping Malaysians stay connected across the country.
And while the way we communicate has changed dramatically over the decades, the people behind those deliveries have remained an important part of Malaysia's story.
Today, getting something delivered to your doorstep is a completely different experience
Instead of waiting days for a letter, we can send a message in seconds. Instead of mailing a handwritten note, we can send photos, voice notes, and videos with a few taps.
But these old photos are a reminder of a time when staying connected took a little more patience, and perhaps made receiving something in the mail feel that much more special.
