Never judge a book by its cover... or an old rundown house by its potential to be revamped.

Take a look at this typical terrace house in Petaling Jaya that was remodelled into a quaint home.

Architect Fabian Tan turned the 40-year-old single storey terrace house into the dreamiest spacious pad that will make you never wanna leave it!

"This house was designed through the eyes of a grandmother to recreate her love for nature whilst inside. The ideas are explored and distilled to create careful framings of view, light, and plants," he shared with SAYS.

Although he is unable to disclose the total cost involved, Fabian retained as much of the original structure as possible while reviving the house within a given budget

The complete renovation from design and planning to the actual construction took slightly less than one and a half years.

Fabian shows us that a home can truly always be made cosy no matter the size

He turned the floor slab that held an old water tank into half a loft floor to maximise the unused space.

Our favourite part of all is the 'hidden' rooftop, which cannot be seen from the street – perfect for barbecues with family or chilled hangout nights with friends

It also has a glass table which doubles up as the skylight to cascade daylight through the house.
