While Seventeen Mall might not immediately come to mind as a go-to hangout spot, this neighbourhood gem nestled in Section 17, Petaling Jaya, offers a treasure trove of options for a fun brunch or chill evening with friends
Although it has long been known for its popular wet market and surrounding neighbourhood eateries, Seventeen Mall has recently undergone a revamp, transforming into a fresh space for both residents in Section 17 and visitors alike.
1. Unwind with a laid-back boozy afternoon or a relaxed evening at Mellow, where you can savour natural wine and share delicious plates with friends
Mellow Wine & Dining Room is located at the mall's outdoor area and is accessible via floor signs in the mall that guide you to the entrance. Alternatively, you can park outside and find it around the corner from Superfine.
What we found particularly enticing about this wine bar and restaurant is their extensive selection of around 150 natural white, red, and orange wines, not typically available in retail stores. Knowledgeable staff members are also on hand to assist with recommending the perfect wine pairings for your starters or small plates.
The Mushroom Risotto and Iberico Pork Collar are absolute must-tries, perfect for snacking on while you sip on your drinks.
Whether it's a birthday celebration, a special occasion, a casual date night, or simply a hangout with friends, Mellow provides a fantastic ambience accompanied by background music.

This Australian-inspired restaurant welcomes you with its charming retro interior and an extensive menu featuring freshly made wood-fired pizzas, sandwiches, breakfast delights, pasta dishes, and an array of vegetarian options.
Their handcrafted pizzas, made from scratch with fresh ingredients, are bursting with flavour and perfect for sharing. We also tried their soft-shell crab burger, which was just as appealing as it looked and had a spicy kick to it.
They offer a variety of desserts to choose from. We particularly enjoyed the strawberry shortcake, which served as a refreshing ending to our hearty meal.
3. Indulge your sweet tooth at Japow, which serves yummy Hokkaido-style soft-serve and milkshakes
This recently opened dessert parlour is a welcoming treat, especially on a hot day or after your weekly grocery run.
Specialising in Hokkaido-style soft-serve, Japow allows you to customise your cone or cup with a selection of delicious, premium-tasting toppings (no cheap sprinkle nonsense! :P).
Additionally, they offer a range of milkshake options to satisfy your cravings.
