In its heyday, Wisma Cosway was a bustling shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. Today, it has turned into an old-school office building that exudes a nostalgic, unpretentious vibe.

This hidden gem is now known for its affordable eateries, niche retail shops, and long-standing specialised services.

One notable addition is Lad & Fry, an authentic fish and chips shop that opened recently.

Perfectly matching the building's character, this casual restaurant specialises in British fish and chips, served with flat-cut chips, homemade gherkin tartar sauce, and mushy peas.

Diners can also enjoy sides like corn and coleslaw.

What sets Lad & Fry apart is its use of moist, meaty sea perch, always fresh and clean, instead of the typical dory fish

Their light batter crackles perfectly with each bite, enhancing the texture without overpowering the fish's flavour. The meal comes with Sarson's malt vinegar on the side and pairs wonderfully with a can of craft beer from Alright Provisions.

Currently, their lunch set is priced at RM38.80 and includes a side of the day along with free-flow lemonade.

Lad & Fry is run by Manchester-born Tony, in partnership with Keith, who founded the popular Lad & Dad gastropub in Singapore.

With its casual setting and inviting atmosphere, Lad & Fry aims to create a relaxed dining experience for guests who want a taste of classic British comfort food in the heart of KL.

Here's where you can find Lad & Fry:
