18-Year-Old In Setapak Took Two Friends To Beat His Pregnant Girlfriend

The girl's family was not aware of her pregnancy.

In an incident that happened earlier this week, an 18-year-old pregnant girl was beaten up by her boyfriend and two other men in Setapak

The incident took place on Monday, 2 September when the victim's 18-year-old boyfriend, known as 'Atab' took her to a lane behind their college at about 2.30am. 

Atab and his friends then started to beat the victim with a hard object before leaving her at the scene.

According to Bernama, the five-month pregnant victim suffered injuries to her face.

The victim was taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment

According to Wangsa Maju District Police Chief Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail, the victim's father was alerted about the incident and immediately sent her to the hospital.

"Checks on her found that she was five months pregnant, which was not known to her family, including her father," Rajab said. 

Investigations revealed that the victim was beaten up because she kept asking her boyfriend to take responsibility for her pregnancy

Police have arrested the suspects including the 18-year-old boyfriend on the day of the incident itself. 

The suspects have been remanded for three days to assist police in their investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
