A dashcam video recently went viral showing a two-year-old being thrown out of a car on the North-South Expressway after it was hit by another speeding vehicle

New Straits Times reported that the incident took place on the PLUS highway heading towards Negeri Sembilan on Monday, 10 February.

A white Myvi and Honda Jazz were reportedly racing each other before the collision happened at around 3.40pm on Monday

"[The] suspect who was driving a Perodua Myvi on the left lane drew up alongside a Honda Jazz on the right lane before it returned to the left lane," Negeri Sembilan Traffic Police (Investigation and Enforcement) Department chief Superintendent Ibrahim Abd Kadir said in a statement, according to New Straits Times.

"He tried to switch lane once again but collided with a Honda Civic, causing the Civic to lose control, and ram into the road divider before crashing into the rear end of the Myvi," he added.

The young boy was believed to have been sitting on his mother's lap in the front passenger seat before he flew out and landed on the fast lane due to the impact of the collision

Fortunately, a lorry driver immediately stopped in front of the boy to prevent other cars from speeding by and got down to help him.

The victim was rushed to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ), Seremban and is reported to have suffered minor injuries.

Police have since arrested the Myvi driver.

Free Malaysia Today reported that the case is being investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
