3 Employees In Penang Face Fines And Jail Time For Using Fake MC At Work

Three factory workers in Bukit Mertajam were charged by the Magistrate Court for using forged sick leave certificates at work
According to Utusan Malaysia, the accused are 23-year-old Muhamad Zulhakimi Masdi, 29-year-old Mohamad Hafizi Zainuddin, and 19-year-old Muhammad Amir Md. Ishak.
All of them are from the same factory in Bukit Minyak, Seberang Prai, and were charged with committing the offence between October last year and February this year.
They were each sentenced to five days of prison
The Star reported that Muhamad Zulhakimi was fined RM3,500 while Mohamad Hafizi and Muhammad Amir were fined RM2,700 each.
Mohamad Hafizi and Muhammad Amir's jail sentence is effective from the date of arrest on 23 March but on the other hand, Muhamad Zulhakimi will serve five days' jail from the date of conviction.
Three women from the same factory were also accused of the same offence and claimed trial
They were charged at two Magistrate Courts and pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Mohd Zaki Abd Rahman charged 21-year-old Nurul Izzah Abdul Razak for using a forged sick leave certificate on 13 February this year. He set RM5,000 bail in one surety and 3 May for case mention.
Magistrate Sri Pracha Nanthini charged Nur Farah and Marsya Fatini for the same offence and they were told to appear in court on 3 May for case mention.
