A Total Of 475 Patients Infected With Coronavirus In China Have Made Full Recovery

A total of 475 patients in China have recovered from the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV)

According to The Star, China's Health Commission reported that the patients have been discharged from hospitals nationwide.

On Sunday, 2 February alone, 147 cured patients were released from hospitals in Hubei district.

The number of people who have recovered nationwide has also spiked in recent days, suggesting that the fatality rate of the virus is relatively low

Meanwhile, a total of 361 people have died of the disease and 17,205 confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection have been reported in China.

The New York Times reported that the death toll from the novel coronavirus has now exceeded that of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in 2002 and 2003 in mainland China.

Wuhan and its neighbouring cities have been on lockdown for 12 days since 23 January.

Malaysian nationals trapped in the city are expected to return today, 3 February.

AirAsia flight number AK8264 took off from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) today at 4.38pm. It is expected to bring home a total of 141 Malaysians, reported Berita Harian.

Besides that, the flight is also carrying 500,000 rubber gloves as a donation for the Chinese government as they combat the coronavirus outbreak.
