Authorities seized a total of 65 motorcycles last night in Taman Koperasi Polis Fasa 1 and 2 during Operasi Satria Jalanan, a crackdown on illegal street racing
The Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department (JPJ) operation, carried out between 5.30pm and 7.30pm following a surge in complaints from residents about underage riders — some as young as 13 — performing high-risk stunts such as "superman", "wheelie", and "zig-zag" manoeuvres.

Kuala Lumpur JPJ director Hamidi Adam said a total of 23 RTD personnel, including Unit Falcon, assisted by 16 officers from the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (JSPT) and Skuad 42, were deployed
Skuad 42 is a specialised unit of the Kuala Lumpur JSPT tasked with combating illegal street racing and related traffic offences, while Unit Falcon is the motorcycle enforcement unit within JPJ.
During the operation, 277 vehicles were inspected, resulting in 546 notices issued for various offences.
Hamidi confirmed that 53 riders were found to be under the legal minimum age of 16.
Other major offences included 122 notices for riding without a driving licence, 90 for expired or missing road tax (LKM), 85 for riding without insurance, and 42 for illegal modifications.
"When we arrived, many of them were riding dangerously. These acts clearly endanger other road users," Hamidi said, adding that most offenders did not wear helmets.
He reminded parents that allowing unlicenced individuals to ride is an offence under Section 39 of the Road Transport Act 1987, which carries a fine of up to RM2,000 or six months' imprisonment
The operation coincided with the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDoR) 2025, which carries the theme "Investing in Safe Roads to Recover Our Lost Talents".
Hamidi said targeted operations will continue and urged the public to report traffic offences via MyJPJ e-Aduan or by emailing [email protected].
