A 6-year-old boy was injured after a python bit him while he was using the bathroom at his home in Prima Court Apartment in Saujana Melawati, Ampang

The incident occurred around noon on Tuesday, 11 February, when the boy, Hadi, entered the bathroom in the master bedroom of the apartment.

Berita Harian reported that his mother, Adibah Aziz, was cooking in the kitchen when she heard her son scream in pain. Hadi then ran out of the room, bleeding from his injuries.

"He told me he had been bitten by a snake, and I immediately ran to ask the neighbours to call an ambulance and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) for help," Adibah said.

Hadi was rushed to Ampang Hospital for medical treatment and admitted for further care

"Hadi suffered injuries to his groin and hand from the snake bite. Thankfully, the doctors confirmed he is in stable condition," she added.

Adibah also mentioned that their home is located near Zoo Negara and surrounded by forested areas, which explains the occasional presence of snakes in the vicinity.

An APM team from the Gombak district arrived at the scene at 12.45pm. Four personnel captured the snake and took it back to their headquarters.
