A 6-Year-Old Boy Fell Into A Drain In Kepala Batas And Drowned

A bicycle belonging to the boy was found near the drain.

In an incident that happened on Tuesday, 28 July, a boy drowned after he fell into a drain at Kampung Pokok Simpor in Kepala Batas

The boy, aged six, accidentally slipped into the open drain about 6.20pm.

Penang Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call.

The six-year-old was identified as Muhammad Firash Darwisy Azlan.

A bicycle belonging to the boy was found near the drain, New Straits Times reported.

The boy’s body was brought ashore by the public

He was pronounced dead on the spot by a medical officer from the Kepala Batas Hospital.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department, the boy's body was then handed over to the police for further investigation and the operation ended at 7.13pm.
