A Complete Human Skeleton Was Found In An Abandoned House In Muar

It is believed that the bones belong to a man who went missing two years ago.

Yesterday, 25 October, police found a complete human skeleton lying in an abandoned government quarters in Muar, Johor

Sinar Harian reported Muar District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Zaharudin Rasip as saying that the discovery was made when someone made a phone call informing them of the bones.

"The police have confirmed receiving calls from the general public regarding the discovery of a human skeleton in a government house at Jalan Pesta, Bakri, which has long been uninhabited," said Zaharudin.

The location the deceased was discovered.

A team from the Criminal Investigation Division at Muar District Police Headquarters (IPD) and the Forensic Specialist Hospital Sultanah Fatimah (HPSF) were sent to the scene.

An identification card was discovered lying close to the deceased, belonging to a man who went missing two years ago

"Police have tracked down the victim's relative and investigations revealed that the identity card belonged to his family member who had been missing for two years," said Zaharudin.

However, police investigations revealed that no criminal acts were found

"A post-mortem procedure will be made to determine the cause of death and confirmation of the deceased's identity. So far, the case is being investigated as a sudden death," added Zaharudin.

Police urge the public to not jump to any speculation about the deceased until further investigations have been done.
