Butterworth Man Assaults Wife With Chair So Mercilessly She Needed 3 Stitches To Her Head

All because she accidentally got a scratch on his BMW.

North Seberang Perai District Police is hunting down a 42-year-old man who on Thursday assaulted his wife at their Butterworth home

"Her husband was angry when he found his car was scratched after his wife was involved in an accident, he pulled her hair and hit his wife with his hands and a chair, pushing her and banging her head against the wall before running away.

"The victim's mother was in their house at that time and she tried to prevent the suspect from hurting her daughter but failed," District Police Chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor was quoted as saying by Malay Mail yesterday, 26 October.

The 40-year-old wife lodged a police report at 9.46pm Thursday night after she was assaulted at their home at around 5.15pm on 25 October.

The wife needed three stitches to her head and also received treatment for the bruises she sustained on her hands and eye

The victim received medical treatment at the Seberang Jaya Hospital and was found to have a long cut on her head after she was hit with a hard object, the ACP said.

The husband has two past records for assaulting his wife, ACP Noorzainy revealed.

The case is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt

Under Section 324 of the Penal Code, a person can be punished with a maximum of ten years in jail or with fine or with whipping or with any two of such punishments.
