Air Selangor Wins Company Of The Year At The Sustainability And CSR Malaysia Awards 2024

The company's CSR efforts have helped underprivileged individuals and families across Malaysia.

Air Selangor has bagged the coveted title of 'Company of the Year' in the Water Services – Community Care category at the Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2024

Air Selangor is the largest water services provider in Malaysia, providing clean and safe treated water to 9.3 million consumers in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. To date, the company operates 34 water treatment plants located in 11 regions, and has over 5,000 employees with a breadth of experience in various fields in the industry.

Commenting on their win at the awards ceremony, Adam Saffian Ghazali, Chief Executive Officer of Air Selangor, said, "This award is an honour reflecting our commitment and ongoing efforts in driving positive change for the grassroots communities in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya. It is also in line with our brand promise to ensure 'Joy in Every Drop' for our 9.3 million consumers.

"This recognition also reflects Air Selangor's dedication in maintaining high-quality water services and our continuous and diligent efforts in promoting sustainability and social responsibility."

Under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative called Sesama Mara, Air Selangor has implemented three main programmes — Box of Hope, Festive Celebrations for the Underprivileged, and Empowering Online Learning

Since its launch in 2020, the Box of Hope pioneer programme has had a significant impact on the community, benefitting 5,775 families.

Air Selangor also took a proactive approach by contributing to welfare homes during festive seasons, as part of the Festive Celebrations for the Underprivileged programme. Since 2021, the company has distributed aid supplies to 3,746 recipients in 54 welfare homes around Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.

As for the Empowering Online Learning programme, it is part of Air Selangor's efforts to provides access to interactive educational courses, so that B40 students can continue receiving quality education.

In 2023, Air Selangor collaborated with Pandai Education to provide students with access to the Pandai Premium application, a comprehensive digital education subscription plan. To date, a total of 375 SPM students have benefited from having this subscription.

Air Selangor also launched the Hydro Heroes volunteer programme to instill a spirit of volunteerism amongst their employees, so they can give back to the community. Since its inception, 259 employees have participated in the programme.
